Rock-a-Belly Jailbait Jenny

what do you do when Vancouver's babeliest burlesque dancer gets knocked up?

take belly photos of course!

but first things first.
a little background check on this saucy little lady.
Jailbait began at the early age of 18 and toured the world with rockabilly band Big John Bates.  flirty and always a bit of a tease, she's had the most natural burlesque ability without coming on too strong or shrinking for even a split second in discomfort.

comfortable in her skin and rarely with any choreography up her sleeve, we'd knock back a couple of drinks while she got dolled up in her apartment and she'd rock it every time.
this toy box routine was SO killer!!!!
as Marilyn
and yes, you actually get to see her in action
(sadly the videos 6 years ago were pretty crappy, so keep that in mind)
Shaker in a Trench
The Marilyn Video
you can hear kevin and i screaming the entire time in this second video here
she even helped choreograph a little number for kev and i for our garter toss!
she and jessica formed a band Fornix during my pregnancy with moses
COUGH IT UP

a very raw and very heavy album that i fell in love with.  it was painful to go to their shows and not get totally wasted.  instead i stood right by the stage with my huge belly and hoped it wasn't too loud for my tiny little baby-to-be.

it was insane to watch the reaction of people who had never heard of them.
you never expect that a pair of girls could rock it out so damn hard.

she was one of the first to come visit moses
look how young and gorgeous my husband used to be hahahaha
momo at 5 months while we were living at my inlaws

the summer after moses was born, katherine and brad made the decision to finally leave the city and move back out to the boonies to start their lives together.  they were married the following summer!
gorgeous in her vintage blue dress

fastforward 2-3 years later, she's got a baby girl cooking in the oven.  now that she has passed through the headaches and the weird inbetween stage where people don't know if she's pregnant or not, her belly has popped, and it was time to capture her lovely belly.

when i mentioned to katherine that i would be taking a couple shots of her belly, she assumed i meant snapping a few profile photos in my living room scattered with 500 toys.  why would she think that?  oh yeah, preggo brain...

the whole night she would not shut up.  she was "not prepared" to take "actual photos" and like every pregnant woman, she felt like a huge blimp.

my heart skipped a beat this evening when she finally arrived home and opened the gallery and sent me this message

How you got something outta nothin I have no idea  You are truly amazing and these are beautiful. I am so lucky that you took the time to photograph me! I have no pics ever and this is special. There are a couple that I don`t feel comfortable putting on the web though if that is ok!!

meet the bump!

(minus a few of the racier ones...)
