Easters 2014

Event Planning Queen Khara has been hosting an annual Easter brunch at her home with friends and family for the last few years.  This year, with more guests (and more kids…), Emily's parents agreed to host the brunch at their home on the farm.  We all prayed for dry weather.  I don't know how Richmond and Vancouver and the rest of the Lower Mainland faired, but we enjoyed a full 7 hours of lounging outside with maybe 10 tiny drops of rain.  Our vibes were too good, the rain didn't dare ruin this lovely Easter Sunday.

Truly, there was no better place for an Easter Egg Hunt!

Bubble Blowers were also hung amidst the Easter Eggs

Nothing says Easter like bright coloured tulips

Guests arrived and baskets (Trick or Treat Pumpkins) were handed out to those who forgot
Thank God Khara is prepared for people like me

The kids were really good about staying in the front area and NOT sneaking into the back where all the goodies were hidden.  Once all the guests finally arrived, it was time!

The Hunt was on!

The kids had a ball filling their baskets.
The parents filled their cameras with photos.
And we all headed into the house to fill our bellies.

i pretty much want to scream and running in circles whenever i see little B

Mark and Playboy Bunny Khara

Mega shameless girl crush on this one...

…and her unbelievably adorable son Brixton wearing his badass MR T sweater hand knit by his gramma

It was inevitable that the trucks would come out.

Fast Forward 12 Years…

Kai finds a ladybug!

bubbles and food on a lawn chair.  these girls know how to live.

The sun even made a few appearances into the late afternoon while the remaining adult gathered area the egg exploding fireplace.  I wasn't quick enough to get Mike stripping down and jumping into the pool.  Next year...

there are only a handful of girls that i really wish i could have known in my teens and early twenties.  i feel like this girl really understands me.  she puts me at ease and makes me feel so comfortable in my skin, totally accepting and encouraging of my strengths and weaknesses.  it must be that fabulous Scorpio-Cancer connection…

we enjoyed a perfect day in the fresh air.  the evening ended with dinner at Pho Saigon with The Hasties, The Happeneys and Corrine + Jason.  dinner was followed by more drinks and lounging at The Happeneys until Dumbo finished and the kids all started to melt down.

i never thought life would ever be this good when we first moved out to Tsawwassen from Vancouver. never in a million years would i have thought that these years would bring me some of the best friendships and probably the best times of my life.  i gotta say, i've been partying more in the last couple of months than i ever did before family life.  i guess when you're coaching a team of little people day in and day out, you need those good times to balance it all out.
